FAM Program

Families Are Made: Strengthening Yours, One Conversation at a Time
Is your family having tough times, arguing a lot, or feeling distant? Do you feel like no one is listening? You’re not alone and we are here to help.
The FAM (Families Are Made) Program offers in-home mental health family therapy to help families talk better, work together, and become stronger.
Each person plays an important role in how the family communicates and gets along. At Stokes, instead of focusing on what’s going wrong, we help you find ways to connect, understand each other, and build a stronger bond. The FAM Program helps families work through issues like communication, conflict, and understanding one another.
Our Stokes counselors come to you, meeting your family where you feel most comfortable – at home.
We listen. We understand. We care.
Asking for help takes courage, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Why is Family Therapy Important?
Family therapy is a type of therapy in which the therapist does not focus on one individual client. The therapist focuses on the family as a whole. Each person plays an important role in how the family communicates, interacts, and relates to one another. Focusing on the family system, rather than the individual, helps address larger issues such as communication, conflict, and understanding one another.
What Happens During the FAM Program?
Each family’s needs will be different, and your FAM Program counselor will tailor sessions to help heal the family system and create a fulfilling, safe, and healthy home environment. Unlike traditional family therapy that involves working with a counselor in an office or clinic setting, our FAM Program takes place right in your home. This gives us an opportunity to see where and how your family lives together. We work with you in an environment where you feel safe and comfortable. As the name suggests, our program is based on the belief that families are made, and that whether you’re a nuclear family, you’re bringing together families through marriage, or you foster or adopt one or more children, any family can benefit from working with skilled professionals to grow together and thrive as a family unit.
