Sarah Pearson-Miley

Regions Covered: Naugatuck/Shelton/Seymour/Derby/Ansonia, Licensed Master Social Worker

My name is Sarah and I am a Licensed Master’s level Social Worker as well as certified in school social work in the state of Connecticut. I received my bachelors degree from Keene State College, and my masters degree in social work from Fordham University. My experience ranges from working in a variety of school settings, including elementary, middle and high school, as well as in specialized schools for behavioral challenges. I also have experience as a program coordinator in a local town youth services department. I enjoy working with young children, youth, families, and adults. My background includes working with children of a variety of ages who are coping with depression, anxiety and trauma. Additionally, I have experience working with children diagnosed with ADHD, autism, PTSD, as well as a wide range of learning disorders. I highly believe that the best approach is one that is collaborative and holistic. This includes addressing all aspects of an individual or families’ life, and involving all who can play a part in making treatment a positive and meaningful experience.

Utilizing both a strength based and client centered approach, my hope is to equip those I work with with the necessary skills to overcome whatever obstacles they may be facing.
