Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for advocacy and social justice. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Melissa has several years of professional experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a multitude of settings including school, in-home, outpatient and private practice and medical settings. Melissa is experienced in working with a range of clinical needs such as Depression, Anxiety, trauma, ADHD, ODD, struggles with aging, life transitions/changes, grief and loss, parent coaching, relationship and family conflict, and substance use providing brief intervention and treatment. Melissa utilizes a combination of evidence-based treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy depending on a client’s individual needs and connecting to various community resources when necessary. Melissa has worked as a Mobile Crisis Clinician, conducting safety assessments, and providing crisis intervention and case management.
