Melanie Cox is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 7 years of experience providing therapeutic services to children, teens, and adults. Melanie holds an advanced certificate in working with Autistic adults from Ausome Training, located in Ireland. A proud Autistic adult herself, Melanie is committed to maintaining an approach to therapy that affirms and empowers neurodivergent (ND) individuals through increased understanding of individual needs. As a Stokes clinician, Melanie leads an online, interest-based therapy group for LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent teens called Nerd Out!, which allows members to explore their unique strengths, needs, and hobbies, while also providing an opportunity to socialize with peers. Nerd Out! is open to new members and meets throughout the year on a monthly basis. Melanie is particularly skilled at working with individuals who have had negative past experiences in therapy or are unsure if therapy is right for them.
