Margaret O’Connell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience as both a Social Worker and Classroom Teacher. She has worked with children from infancy to age five, ages six to ten as well as adults. She is a relationship-based therapist with extensive experience helping people find meaning and resilience within relationships as they navigate: Developmental Disabilities, Challenging Behaviors, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Foster care and Adoption. She utilizes a variety of treatment modalities including: Psychodynamic therapy, CBT, ACT, DBT, Trauma informed approaches, Complicated Grief Treatment, Perinatal/Postpartum Psychotherapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Sensory Integration tools, Sand tray/Sand play Therapy and Behavioral Approaches. She is a Certified Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and facilitates/supports trainings on Attachment, Brain Development, Trauma, Culture, and Reflective Supervision with Connecticut Association for Infant Mental Health.
