My name is Kiana Smith and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Central Connecticut State University. I have worked with a wide variety of individuals ages 16 to 60, and enjoy working in a diverse population. To date, I have clinical experience with college students, people with substance use disorders, community health, people going through homelessness, and a wide range of people with mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, conduct disorders, and more.
I strive to meet people where they are on their mental health journey and believe that the therapeutic relationship is important to their success. I use a Person Centered Approach, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Strengths Based Therapy to empower people to be the best versions of themselves, facilitate growth, and decrease mental health symptoms.
Many people do not get the time and space to express themself in a healthy and safe way. My goal is to create an environment where individuals feel safe and have the space to be themselves without judgement.
