Johnnie Medina, LMSW.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I have worked with youth and families for over 6 years. I have worked in residential settings, detention centers and also as a Juvenile Probation Officer. I also have experience helping families through relationship and parenting conflicts as well. I have worked with clients from various racial, ethnic and gender backgrounds. Majority of my experience is working with at-risk youth in the Juvenile Justice System who suffer from depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma and emotional and behavioral disturbances. I have been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I would say my approach in therapy is very cool, calm, and collective. I believe in treating everyone with respect and meeting individuals where they are. It is important to me to help clients identify their own strengths and empower them to advocate for themselves.
