John Fernandes Jr is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from Quinnipiac University. Throughout his career he has worked in many settings ranging from medical Social Work at St. Mary’s and Yale New Haven Smilow Hospital as a case manager, ER behavioral health triage, crisis clinician, 1-on-1 therapist and facilitator of groups for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis and various types of cancer. John has also worked in-home setting with teens, tackling behavioral & familial challenges inside and outside the home. He has worked using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Strength-based and Solutions-based approaches in past specialties such as behavioral challenges in teens, parenting skills, self-regulation, relationship and couples counseling, grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD and confidence building. Using humor, humanization and his own personalized approach he has had success with his clients in many different fields. Using these tools and many others he would like to help you take control of your thoughts, feelings and actions to improve your quality of life.
