India Beard

Licensed Professional Counselor

India Beard has been working in the mental health and social work field for over 10 years. She graduated with a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and in School Counseling from The College of New Rochelle in New York. India is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York, and has experience working with children, teens, families, adults, and seniors as well as diverse and underserved populations.
She speaks Spanish and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, has written and published articles as well as poems, and has editorial and medical research experience. India has helped those with depression, anxiety, grief, life adjustments/transitions including career and college process, trauma, and relationship issues. She has experience, certification and/or training in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused and reality therapy, psychoeducation, play therapy, grief/bereavement counseling, pastoral/ministerial counseling, family systems, cultural competency, reiki, mindfulness, and other modalities.
India is a member of the American Counseling Association and follows a Rogerian style and philosophy. Her strengths-based and person-centered approach to counseling and life strives to bring awareness and deep healing to her clients while holding a sacred and safe space for opening up throughout the therapeutic process. She looks forward to assisting clients along their own personal therapeutic journey while providing empathy, support, guidance, and tools that are tailor made to each individual.
She enjoys music, art, traveling, and learning new things as well as spending time with her Scottish terrier along with family and friends. India often uses her sense of humor to share joy, spread laughter and provide comfort to those around her.
