Licensed Professional Counselor

Derio Rivera is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. He received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University in 2019. He worked in residential therapeutic programs in NY with at-risk youth, in an educational program that focused on learning disabilities and completed his graduate clinical hours at a state agency in CT. Derio has worked with adolescents for over ten years and has been working with adults for five years as well. He enjoys working with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and the many, vast challenges individuals face in their daily lives. He uses treatment modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Logotherapy, Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness Based Therapy. Derio believes in supporting clients where they are in their journey, supporting them to find hope, understanding, move toward healing, and improving their lives.
