Cindy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from Southern CT State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work. She then immediately went to pursue a Master Degree in Social Work at Fordham University. She graduated in 2008 in the Advanced Standing Program. Cindy became a LCSW in 2015. The majority of Cindy’s experience thus far has been working in the mental health field with young adults, adults and the elderly population. She has worked mostly in community-based settings which includes an individual’s home. She has also worked many years in a Supervisor role performing a variety of administrative tasks and responsibilities, but recently had a desire to return back to a more clinical role working one-to-one with individuals.
Cindy feels rapport and transparency with individuals are key and important to building and maintaining the therapeutic relationship as it will facilitate trust and comfort. Her focus is person-centered by supporting individuals in identifying their life goals, being a strong advocate and “cheerleader” in helping to reach those goals. She also likes to focus on confidence and coping strategies to tackle the day to day life stressors. She utilizes a variety of therapies including supportive, solution-focused, strength-based and CBT.
