Christoper DiElsi

Danbury/Naugatuck Licensed Master Social Worker

Christopher DiElsi is a Licensed Master Social Worker, certified in CT and NY, with experience working with the elderly and homebound, as well as adults with intellectual and developmental (ID/DD) disabilities. His warm, compassionate, and gentle manner invites clients to be at ease in a non-judgmental environment. Before joining the Stokes Counseling team, Christopher worked at ArchCare Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home in Manhattan as a Social Worker for short-term medical rehab and long-term care patients. Connecting with his patients and valuing and understanding their needs was his favorite part of the job, which helped him realize he wanted to apply these skills in a counseling practice. Christopher previously worked at Ability Beyond in Danbury as an Employment Specialist, placing individuals with severe mental health and/or ID/DD diagnoses in employment opportunities and coaching them in job skills to enable them to find lasting successful employment. He also worked at the Prospector Theater in Ridgefield, where he led the rewriting of standard operating procedures in multiple modalities to enable employees of all abilities to use them as learning tools. Christopher is passionate about helping his clients become agents of change in their own lives. He holds a Master’s of Social Work degree from Sacred Heart University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Stonehill College. Christopher completed MSW practicums with Western Connecticut Home Care and Danbury Youth Services. Outside of work, Christopher enjoys American history, the New York Mets, and all things baseball.
