Cheyenne E. McElhiney helps people reconnect with their innate ability to heal themselves through regulating their nervous systems and managing their unconscious thoughts/behaviors. I apply a wide range of information including CBT, DBT, Psychoanalysis, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Neuroscience, Quantum Physics, somatic techniques, mindful movement, faith exploration, breath work, storytelling, Art Therapy, and meditation/visualizations with my clients in order to treat them more holistically. I believe, (through personal and witnessed experience) that we are our own best healers.
I graduated from the University at Albany, (SUNY) with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with a wide range of clientele in a variety of settings. I have worked at a residential facility for teenage girls who struggle to manage their mental health. I have worked at an outpatient clinic for adults where I ran psychoeducational classes and provided individual therapy. I have worked at a nonprofit for foster children and vulnerable youth and families where I provided group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy. And I have worked at a private practice working with individuals, couples, and families. I am passionate about creating lasting change in my personal life and am excited to aid you through your own healing journey!
