Amanda Wirag is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Her greatest passion is bringing healing to people who have been through traumatic and stressful events. Amanda is passionate about taking an integrative approach to therapy, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma informed, experiential and person centered techniques to treat the whole person and ensure that what is done in therapy is personalized, collaborative and unique to each client. Her therapeutic approach is based on the belief that clients are in charge of their counseling experience. Amanda has experience working with both teenagers, adults, and couples in outpatient settings, working in partnership with clients to utilize their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. She acquired her Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling and then Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Post University. Amanda views the counseling process as an alliance between both client and therapist and considers the client as the expert of their lives. Within the structure of the therapeutic relationship, clients can access their inner strengths and promote change.
